Team Coaching

How do I organize the right team to build trusted information governance? Sometimes it helps to have a roadmap of the journey.

One certainty of the 21st century is that any project to improve control of digital information within a company requires a diverse team. IT, Information Security, Records Management, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Finance—all have information to add to the solution and an active interest in a successful outcome. The failure to include any of the right team members can assure the delay or complete failure of the project.

I know that one of the most compelling failures in implementing IT is knowing how to structure and define the process. With the new demands of law, global competition and global adversaries (known and unknown), companies cannot afford to take the risks involved in learning as they go.

As a result, I have developed a facilitation workshop that brings together all of the relevant stakeholders in your company who must be involved in information governance. Together, we work to develop and deliver a roadmap—a visual tool for how to structure and execute every aspect of the information governance project they face.

This approach is powerful! The first time I did this several years ago, a senior executive for a Global Fortune 5 company said, at the end of a successful two day workshop, “When I saw your first map, I asked, ‘what the h*ll does this guy think he knows?’ After today, I realized the right question is ‘What the h*ll do I think I know?’ Jeffrey, you have changed the way I see my job.”

So, give me a shout if you would like to organize your team to work better as a team. It does not matter if your focus is legal, IT, infosec, records, or compliance—whatever the starting point, I can help you. You will finish the workshop with a planning tool you can use for any project that confronts you within the next ten years.
