Training Delivery Options
My training is designed to allow my clients to select the best options for them. To truly move forward with information governance, companies and professionals work in different styles. By offering options for pursuing training, I am able to meet the different priorities, agendas, and budgets of those I train.
Since all of the training employs the power of my RitterMaps, you can have the confidence that each option will enable strong, effective learning. Moreover, the flexibility allows a core training to be accomplished in-person and for more advanced training to occur on-line, building on the techniques and skills learned directly with me.
Live On-Site Training
The best learning experience is still one that is led by a teacher at the head of the class that engages with the learners. What makes my teaching different is the hands-on, interactive nature of the learning. When I teach live, I bring my passion for learning into the room and commit to making sure everyone finishes their time with me empowered, educated, and able to do their job differently!
Interactive Workshops
In small groups, my training courses enable you to learn best—by doing. This is vital for meeting the needs of information governance—achieving success in managing your digital assets requires teamwork, collaboration skills, and the ability to understand and appreciate the different perspectives of each department—IT, Legal, Records Management, Information Security, Compliance.
My interactive workshops are limited to 20 participants. Each workshop presents real-world problems that require collaborative, hands-on work and fast reactions to unexpected factual developments. The same content can be covered, but you walk away with a more intensive sense of how to apply the learning to your professional skills.
The workshops are ideal for both teams that will be working together for an extended period, and for highly-skilled professionals with an immediate need to use what they have learned. The workshop courses focus on:
- Information governance teams
- Compliance and Audit teams
- Electronic Discovery teams
- Law Firm litigation groups
- Corporate Law Departments
- Solo practitioners with similar practices
Live Lectures
While small group learning is outstanding (see above), sometimes it is best to train a larger group at once. It helps assure that everyone is on the same page! For corporations, live training can also support the need to combine the substantive learning with internal content training—for example, rolling out corporate policies and procedures. I still use the map-based training method, but vary the number and intensity of individual exercises to meet the needs of the situation.
My live training is ideal for:
- Sales teams
- Corporate law departments
- Professional associations
- Bar associations
- Customer events or user conferences
Live Online Learning
Today’s fast-paced environment and distributed operations often make online learning an ideal solution. My courses allow the content of our live lectures and interactive workshops can also be delivered through our Webex-based online training center. The Webex platform is ideally suited for visually-intensive training content and, in fact, Webex features my company on its website.
Online Live—These courses are taught live by me—the classes are generally small (up to 20) but larger lecture formats can be delivered if needed. You have all of the great interactive features of online training—polling, chat, interactive exploration, comprehension testing, even breakout sessions. Live video feeds are included—your team will be able to see and work directly with me! This option is especially helpful if your team, like so many, is working in different locations.[possible screen shot?]
Ritter Academy—On-Demand Online
During 2011, I will launch the Ritter Academy, a new, online center publishing a complete catalog of courses that can be accessed and completed on-demand. The Ritter Academy will include the ability to purchase additional books, practice tools, and RitterMaps. The Ritter Academy will use a learning management system that can export to corporate training systems standardized reports on course completion, quizzes, and ratings.
Online On-Demand is great for large organizations, departments with the need to deliver consistent training to new employees, or for extending training to people unable to attend live events. Over 40 hours of training on information governance will be released in 2011.
Online Features
All of the online courses include:
- 60-90 minutes of structured content.
- Delivery of the same electronic RitterMaps and course materials used in live training.
- Interactive, hands-on engagement (live lectures only).
- Professional certification credits (CLE, CPE) when available.
